Host/Hostess
Position Type: Part-time
Reports To: Restaurant Manager
Core Responsibilities
- First Impressions: Welcoming guests warmly as they arrive and exit, answering questions, and providing accurate wait times when the venue is busy.
- Seating & Flow: Escorting customers to their tables, handing out menus, and ensuring tables are evenly distributed among servers.
- Reservation Management: Organizing the seating chart, answering phone calls, being knowledgeable of private events, securing private events bookings, and emailing needed information regarding event details, managing the waitlist or booking platforms like OpenTable.
- Team Support: Assisting waitstaff during busy rushes (e.g., refilling waters, clearing plates, replenishing silverware and glasses, keeping front area clean and welcoming, including windows and desk space, communicating with managers regarding guest feedback.

- Strong Interpersonal Skills: Remaining friendly, patient, and polite, even when handling customer complaints or managing a crowded lobby.
- Organization & Multitasking: The ability to juggle multiple tasks at once like taking calls, seating guests, and managing a floor plan.
- Stress Management: Remaining calm under pressure during peak dining or event hours.
- Physical Activity: Ability to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Experience
- 1 or more years of experience in a restaurant or similar position
Grooming
- All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per restaurant standards. Professional uniform attire required.
